I tried a couple of VU Meters and it's hard to tell exactly but I'm pretty sure the volume levels are showing too high in Magic. I'll have to see if there's a way to fix that. I suppo...

Creating A VU Meter
For a couple of the tracks I was putting on YT I decided to do a video containing all the main elements of Magic. I included a stereo EQ, stereo waves & a timer. I also made a VU meter of sorts. I created an image resembling a level meter and used scale & translate to have it react to the vo...

Program really small on 4K monitor
I bought a new 4K monitor ( this one ) and now when I go into Magic everything is very small. The text is hard to read and the windows are too small. I've tried increasing the scaling in Windows 10 but while it's made a difference to other programs (GIMP, Nero Video etc.) Magic is still the same. Is...

Video looping
I would like to see a feature under videos for a transition effect when looping. It would be useful if I want to use a background video that doesn't actually loop but would look OK with blur fade (or some other transition) each time it goes back to the beginning. Also it would be good to have more t...

Using Magic on another device
The PSU on my PC died last weekend :( I have no idea when my PC is going to be back up and running as I'm getting the PSU replaced under warranty. Is there any way I can use Magic on my Laptop in the meantime? I only have one licence but obviously can't use it on my usual device. I also can't get in...

Re: Processor Upgrade
That's a very expensive upgrade! I suspect it would only give a relatively small performance increase, and might prove very poor value for money. I suggest trying to see what the CPU usage is during your long exports. Windows Resource Monitor can show you CPU usage for each virtual CPU core. A quic...

Re: Processor Upgrade
Very hard to say. Magic's exporting speed is dependent on a combination of the GPU, the CPU, and the hard drive. If you already have a very fast GPU and hard drive, you might notice a speed increase if the CPU is the bottleneck, because exporting can be very CPU intensive, depending on the codec. B...

I bought a custom PC through PC Specialist in 2017. It has an overclocked i7-800k Intel processor. I can upgrade to a i9-900k through PCS at a cost of €570. I mostly use the PC for video editing through Magic. I sometimes create longer videos (60-75 mins) that can take a while export. What I'm wonde...

Rather than specifically for text, this drop shadow method, and many other effects, can be applied to any element. For example "Stylise->Edges" will give you thin outline and Erode a thicker outline which can be applied over the original text. You can make glows by blurring and applying t...

It would be great to have some more text effects in Magic. Things like drop shadow or outline & gradient colours would be useful to have. I have used some workarounds such as ghosting for drop shadow but it's not quite the same thing as the "shadow" doesn't all go in the same direction...

Looks like the final trails in the main scene is interacting with your text. Put your translate after that. Did you actually finish the export with the older one though? Sometimes the estimate for the time remaining is not fully accurate at the very beginning of the export. I would be surprised if a 74 minute video could be exported in 1 hour because usually the export is not as fast as real-time. No I d...

Does the iterator lead to longer export times? I exported a 74 minute video earlier today (twice in fact) and it took 3hrs to export. It used the 30 band EQ with Iterator (from the sample projects). My videos never took that long to export and sure enough when I tried the same audio with an older vi...

An edge feather is really just a mask with a blurred rectangle. Try Polygon -> Fast Blur -> Mask, and then the thing you want to mask is the other input to the Mask module. Hmmm... that only seems to work if it's a large image. The images I was trying to use edge feathering on were 600 x 600 and we...

FWIW one thing I find useful to do is to upload the video as private initially and give it at least 4-5 hours or even overnight (depending on the size of the video) before making it public. Although YouTube may say that the video is fully processed it often takes a while more before it looks right. ...

I love Magic and use it all the time but I have a few annoyances. When using start times I set each scene to appear when I want it to (usually to coincide with changes in the music). At the moment only one has this scaling set, so when you export to a lower resolution the other three unscaled images will be relatively larger.

Exported Video Looks Different To Preview
I created a video with the same image appearing 4 times, evenly placed on both sides of the screen. When I go to export the movie three of the images are bigger and so the video doesn't look right. See the screenshots I attached.
Any idea why this is happening? Is there anything I can do to solve it?

Re: Keeping file sizes down
Well, if you look at the math, there are 8 bits in a byte. So your background video is 8 * 321 = 2568 megabits. Divide that by 404 seconds (6:44) and you get 6.35 megabits/sec. So that's what you should set for your exported video if you want it to be 321 MB. The thing is, Magic creates videos that...
