Does Magic scale to 3.2K?
I was previously creating videos on a PC with a high quality 4K monitor but I now have to move to using a laptop. This may be a stupid question but if I get a laptop with a 3.2K display will it cause any issues with video previewing in Magic? Will video previews scale to 3.2K for 4K projects? It's h...

Re: Sound Not Working In Magic
I feel kind of stupid now . The issue was that the MP3 file I was using had no audio. I have no idea how that happened because it exported correctly from the DJ Software I was using. It must have been an issue with that program. Oh well, at least its sorted now. Thanks for all your help Sadler.

Re: Sound Not Working In Magic
Try Help-> Reset All Settings? Perhaps the audio config got messed up. I tried that but it made no difference. The odd thing is that when I go to System > Sound > Sound Mixer in Windows Magic shows up twice and one instance has the volume level greyed out. I have no idea why this is only happening ...

Sound Not Working In Magic
Up until a few days ago Magic was working fine. Suddenly I started getting error messages saying "No audio output device is available". There's no sound when I click play and (obviously) no visuals. I've updated my Realtek Audio drivers. I've uninstalled & reinstalled Magic as well as ...

Re: Creating A VU Meter
Get a second opinion... https://bartman88.blogspot.com/2016/12/5-free-audio-vu-meter-software-for-your.html Thanks. I tried a couple of VU Meters and it's hard to tell exactly but I'm pretty sure the volume levels are showing too high in Magic. I'll have to see if there's a way to fix that. I suppo...

Creating A VU Meter
For a couple of the tracks I was putting on YT I decided to do a video containing all the main elements of Magic. I included a stereo EQ, stereo waves & a timer. I also made a VU meter of sorts. I created an image resembling a level meter and used scale & translate to have it react to the vo...

Program really small on 4K monitor
I bought a new 4K monitor ( this one ) and now when I go into Magic everything is very small. The text is hard to read and the windows are too small. I've tried increasing the scaling in Windows 10 but while it's made a difference to other programs (GIMP, Nero Video etc.) Magic is still the same. Is...

Video looping
I would like to see a feature under videos for a transition effect when looping. It would be useful if I want to use a background video that doesn't actually loop but would look OK with blur fade (or some other transition) each time it goes back to the beginning. Also it would be good to have more t...

It would help if I actually searched your website properly.Eric wrote:That's exactly what this page is for: https://magicmusicvisuals.com/licenseDeactivation
My laptop has a lower spec then the PC but does have a dedicated 4gb graphics card so hopefully it should work fine.
Thanks for your help.

Using Magic on another device
The PSU on my PC died last weekend :( I have no idea when my PC is going to be back up and running as I'm getting the PSU replaced under warranty. Is there any way I can use Magic on my Laptop in the meantime? I only have one licence but obviously can't use it on my usual device. I also can't get in...

Re: Processor Upgrade
That's a very expensive upgrade! I suspect it would only give a relatively small performance increase, and might prove very poor value for money. I suggest trying to see what the CPU usage is during your long exports. Windows Resource Monitor can show you CPU usage for each virtual CPU core. A quic...

Ah OK. That makes sense. Thanks for all your help.Eric wrote:If the exports you did are representative of the work you usually do, then obviously your hard drives are both fast enough and aren’t the limiting factor in the export speed.

Re: Processor Upgrade
Very hard to say. Magic's exporting speed is dependent on a combination of the GPU, the CPU, and the hard drive. If you already have a very fast GPU and hard drive, you might notice a speed increase if the CPU is the bottleneck, because exporting can be very CPU intensive, depending on the codec. B...

Processor Upgrade
I bought a custom PC through PC Specialist in 2017. It has an overclocked i7-800k Intel processor. I can upgrade to a i9-900k through PCS at a cost of €570. I mostly use the PC for video editing through Magic. I sometimes create longer videos (60-75 mins) that can take a while export. What I'm wonde...

Re: Text Effects
Rather than specifically for text, this drop shadow method, and many other effects, can be applied to any element. For example "Stylise->Edges" will give you thin outline and Erode a thicker outline which can be applied over the original text. You can make glows by blurring and applying t...

Re: Text Effects
Although not the 'built-in" option that you requested, Eric had a couple of suggestions for drop-shadow that I have found useful. https://magicmusicvisuals.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1002&p=4516&hilit=Drop+shadow#p4516 Thanks for that. That info is from 2016 so obviously for an...

Text Effects
It would be great to have some more text effects in Magic. Things like drop shadow or outline & gradient colours would be useful to have. I have used some workarounds such as ghosting for drop shadow but it's not quite the same thing as the "shadow" doesn't all go in the same direction...

PixelateGrid
HI, I'm trying to recreate something like this video: https://youtu.be/ZZQ_FG3_QjE The thing is when I use PixelateGrid with spectrum It never works right. See the images below for example. There are always gaps in the spectrum and it doesn't seem to matter how many pixels I choose as I still end up...
