How about this...
Set one set of buttons to queue A scenes and another set to queue B scenes via an input selector then mix each set. e.g choose A1 cross fade to A, choose B5, cross fade to B, and so on. Problem is you'd have to be careful not to queue on the set you're viewing.

I would say that any SSD would improve things but I would think seek time on random access would be one of the crucial aspects. Re: Support for Sony PS3 Eye USB camera
I get the impression that the webcam arena is a bit of a mess and that if a developer gets it working in Skype they think that's their job finished. This is only my user experience though, not any dev insight. For instance, my MS LifeCam Studio works in Skype and MMV but not in Resolume. I have a Ki...

OK. What you might like to try then is right click on the node and Show Param for Bypass. Then you can assign midi to turn the node on and off.

Re: Visual for Vjing
Personally, I prefer to change the visual within two bars or when there's a change in the music - that's not to say I don't repeat elements later. I leave the individual beats up to automation unless I want some visuals ahead of the beat. It's fine to stop the motion when the beat drops but not when...

Re: how do you use exported magic videos in resolume?
Resolume can play MP4s (if you rename them to MOV) but, at least on my machine, it gives terrible frame rates. There are also many reports of instability using MP4 and large images. DXV and MJPEG are always advocated by devs but never MP4. I've also tested HAP in a mov wrapper in Resolume which is b...

If the background plate is absolutely identical. Be difficult though. Components of the foreground might still match the background.
Could you try a depth camera to generate a mask?
Or you could always invest in a Lytro light field camera!

Re: Audio to effect modifier
Let me try again... You asked: I'm trying to create a guy that bobs his head along to music, but when the music stops he stops bobbing his head. In your screenshot you have Source->Sin->Scale. Using this modifier stack, when the music is, say 0.8, the sin will add to that and take it from 0.8 to 1.8...

If you want to rotate 2d plane (i.e. image) or a 3D model so that it bobs to the music then Translate up (Y) to change the anchor pos to the 'neck', Rotate about X with angle set to 20-80hz with Smoothing, then Translate down (Y) to move the neck back onto the body. For a video of someone nodding, u...

Re: how do you use exported magic videos in resolume?
Export to mp4 then convert to DXV. There are several ways to convert files to DXV. Vegas, After Effects, Streamclip, Media Encoder and probably others.
If you have Resolume installed then that codec should be already installed.

Re: MIDI controller pad input
I'm not that familiar with Ableton but I would guess you'd have to get it to push midi to a virtual midi port (e.g. midi-yoke) and then have MMV listen to that port. Ableton can only send to midi devices and MMV can only receive from midi devices so if you want to send notes from Ableton to MMV you'...

Re: Reset a module parameter to default by double-click
I sometimes try to reset values in MMV when I've been working in Resolume. A right click menu option would satisfy me. This Pixar video explains order of transformations visually (from about 1 minute in). From Khan Academy's Pixar in a Box lesson.Everything would be forced into one specific and perhaps undesirable order if all operations were combined into one module.

But, for the sake of real-estate, perhaps then consider the suggestion to more neatly stack modules, having...

I was testing TouchOSC using an XY Pad to send midi to MMV to scale a polygon. My testing showed that MMV receives 100/cc_value in the Scale module. If the midi range is 0-127 then the maximum scale value is 100/127 (0.7874) and if the midi range is set to 0-50, MMV receives 0-2.0. Is this conversio...

You can switch between several models using the input switcher.
Before a Model Folder node I would prefer to see ambient occlusion, vertex colouring and environment lighting - if these could be done in realtime of course.

Re: stylus/tablet input
If it's a network issue then a slow internet connection isn't the problem - TouchOSC doesn't need an internet connection. If you create an ad hoc network from your PC and connect your iPad to that there won't be any interference from internet traffic unless your network is overloaded. The chunkiness...
