Can you go to C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\MAGIC and paste the contents of startup.log here?

Can you try going into Windows sound settings, temporarily disabling that device, and see if the problem still happens?

(Click on the "Don't Allow" button where it says "Allow apps and Windows to use this device for audio." You may need to do this for both output and input separately.)

I have disabled all audio devices, still crashing.

Thanks. We're investigating this, and we'll make it a priority to get a fix out ASAP... hopefully just a day or two.

Also, one last thing to try: in the same folder as startup.log is the preferences file (MAGIC_1_0.xml). Try deleting that file (while Magic isn't running), then start Magic.

We haven't been able to pinpoint this bug yet, but we did upload a new version which has some potential fixes and some extra logging.

Let us know if it fixes the problem, or if not, please post the startup.log contents again from your most recent run.

about new version 3.0b2
always crashed. white screen and closed after 2 sec. i try upload dump file, but no way.
with Magic_1_0 in appdata/roaming/magic or without. nothin change. white screen and bye bye

the statup file don't update from 08-10-2026, yesterday

Yes, that's the general message. But it's ok, I think we figured it out anyway. It is indeed an audio issue, and likely an ASIO issue. We'll upload a new version soon, but you might be able to get it to work by disconnecting or disabling any ASIO devices.
