Greetings!
A new guy here (o:
I'm confused about the Mute. I'm building an interactive booth, hoping to use MMV..... I have images moving to different MP3 tracks listed in the Input Sources via scale=>Volume. When I mute one source, as expected, the sound of the MP3 from the speakers mutes that one track, but the visual continues to react to the track that is playing but muted. I would like the unmuted tracks to continue to play and the video objects linked to the unmuted ones to continue to respond.
I was hoping the video would stop reacting when the sound track is muted. Any suggestions as to how to make that happen? I was hoping to do that via a MIDI command.
Thx!
Dirk
Muting MP3 track doesn't stop the video action
Re: Muting MP3 track doesn't stop the video action
Hi Dirk, welcome to the forum. The way Magic works in this regard is absolutely desired. Imagine having a beat track or a midi track or metronome that makes events happen but that you don't want to hear in the output audio.
To turn off audio reactions for that source either turn it off in the node(s) or change the source in the input sources to something with no signal.
A more involved solution but one that would work with midi is to have a global midi latch which can be used to multiply the source - when it is 1 the source is unaffected but when 0 it is suppressed. Alternatively, have a midi control a scale modifier.
