Hi there,
i am using Voicemeeter (Potato) and Magic Music Visualiser in combination for streaming. I love Magic and so far it has working like a dream. Just today morning i showed some new visualiser thing i am working on right now and it worked perfectly. To be clear, i effectively use my browser as a music source, not loading any MP3s into it.
Anyways i haven't changed a thing, and in teh evening just now i wanted to kep working on it, so i started Magic again only to find everything not responding to the music, or any sounds that are coming from Voicemeeter sources directly.
So far i tried resetting all settings, restarting my PC and re-installing Magic. Nothing worked and i am exhausted, and feeling helpless.
No besides all the Voicemeeter sources, Magic DOES respond to Microphone sources as well as the VB-Audio Virtual Cable if i connect it right. However i am sure i used a direct Voicemeeter source, "VoiceMeeter Output (VB-Audio VoiceMeeter VAIO)" to be exact. I am at a loss.
I use the Virtual Cable as a way to be able to link Discord Voicechat Audio as a seperate audio track in Streamlabs OBS so that i can adjust the volume of people i am talking with for the stream independently to how i hear it myself. If i connect the audio cable to also submit the Browser audio it 1) gets double-feeded to Streamlabs OBS but also when i select it as a input source in Magic, the visualiser does react however with a noticable delay.
I will try to also send screenshots if i figure out how.
One of them is gonna be 2 screenshots edited together in one picture, it will show my Magic Input Source window and its settings.
Another one is going to be a screenshot of the project i am working on, however i haven't changed a thing from the time it worked today morning and until i noticed it doesnt work anymore. I should also add that the behaviour of Magic remaisn the same across all project, including all sample projects that are available.
Last screenshot will be of my Voicemeeter Panel, because i am still not entirely sure if the problem might actually be lying there.
NOTE: In the Evening when i started Magic to keep on working on the project only to relise it stopped working, i did have a XBox Controller (Thrustmaster ESwap) conencted, which does have an AUX cable slot to connect a headset to, and it has caused some tiny issues in the past where Windows wanted to select it as the Audio output even tho i didnt have anything conected to teh AUX on the controller. I dont think i ever had the controller connected to my PC when i launched Magic before, so now i am a little bit afraid that this may have caused some bug in Magic that refuses to get undone or something... But this is just a wild guess/fear.
[SOLVED] VoiceMeeter source inputs sudddenly not working anymore
Re: [SOLVED] VoiceMeeter source inputs sudddenly not working anymore
Solved it myself! I am an unexperienced dummy who doesnt know enough about the programs i use!
It was all about that single button i circled in red here.
I am still not sure how to explain it, but the "Bx" outputs are virtual, as seen here:
So in order for the "signal" from Voicemeeter to reach Magic, i have to enable the virtual Output. And i must have accidently clicked it early that morning, disabling it without knowing.
Damn i feel so stupid...
But ye, everything seems to work again now, so incase anyone else in the future is having a similar problem and stumbles upon this post: Leanr from my mistakes! I hope this helps!
