Re: first attempt at mapping onto a building

Fantastic and consistent aesthetic - recognisably you - and, oh, to have access to such projectors. For the shadow puppet I would be inclined to keep to human FK angles and have easing at the extremities, then blend/transition between different views (left, front, right). A bit more work though but...

first attempt at mapping onto a building

Still trying to perfect the Wayang Kulit (shadow puppet) movements. Figuring out how to randomise rotations of the bones and making the movements look somewhat natural in particular was very challenging.

Re: Discovering MMV

I reckon the name is part of the problem - search for resolume, vvvv, vdmx, chataine, touchdesigner you're only going to get one result. Search for magic music visuals and you don't know what you'll get. +1, tough to get SEO working on our side with a name like this, I really wish there are easier ...

Re: Batik-inspired visualiser, 72 layers of drawing

Wow. Really nice. Excellent work! Omg, the man himself! Thank you for this amazing piece of software, I really mean it! This project was also used for our live performance last week. Two instruments (guitar & angklung) through a Livetrak-L8 USB mixer and quite a huge amount of modules, lol. Had...

Re: Flip V/H vs RotateAxis

The Flip H and Flip V modules were created by VIDVOX - perhaps there is no easy way to flip media in vdmx. Another use case is it does what is says - some prefer the simplicity. Both flips are very simple glsl shaders and I'm guessing you must be using the iterator with 100s of instances to see deg...

Flip V/H vs RotateAxis

I discovered that using RotateAxis to flip objects instead of using those Flip modules makes the framerate much better. Now I'm wondering what the use cases are for Flip V & Flip H as those modules are quite taxing.

multi-layered hand-drawn illustrations for our live music

Hi, recently we've been using Magic (Studio editon) for multiple live shows in Malaysia and Singapore. Thank you for making this amazing app, love everything about it and will upgrade to Performer edition soon. We're a team of two people called Kicau-Bilau. This is one of our projects that was made ...

Re: performing with animated visuals

I do a similar thing on occasion and made a tutorial for this. It is a good concept nicely done and fits your music well. I would say use a wider (or multiple) images to have less looping. Some of the images I use are as wide as Magic will take (32k pixels I think). Sorry to hear about your experie...
