The Waveform module is a Geometry module hence it is quite resilient to scaling. If you want to focus on the low end, for example, just scale and translate in X until just the low end is visible. However I agree this could be useful especially for circular waveforms that can't easily be scaled (in X...

Re: Newbie needing Magic files!

Hey sharkford, Not many rules in this forum and I don't think anyone would mind you asking. The technical side of visuals is a relatively small part, in my opinion, and most of my thinking goes into what is new, interesting, awesome, perfect, whatever. This is the first downside to your request. You...

Re: How to create a control range that starts with a negative value using MIDI controller

There are just seven modifiers that allow -ve values and most of them don't make much sense - when would one ever want to Trigger or Clamp on -ve values? Offset, Scale, ok but the others are arguable. You could use a global to go from -20 to 20 and use that to scale in an expression, same with offse...

I can't test midi here right now but I think you have to assign the param to the modifier first, then you will see the option to clear the param and adjust its range.

Still can't find a way to do it genuinely, but rotating all objects in the opposite direction to the rotation of the sphere almost works if you ignore the objects at the back (and the top and bottom).

I still don't know how, sorry, but I've noticed something else. The errant noodle is connected to the null in the other scene. When the null node is moved around in the first scene, the noodle moves in the second scene. I have deleted almost everything in both scenes except for the null in the first...

Anomalous Noodle

A small and curious but not at all serious anomaly to report. A persistent errant noodle with an orphan, tethered terminus which is otherwise functional. Although apparently not connected to any node it transmits the contents of the previous scene - even though the previous scene isn't fully connect...

Iterator sphere - calculate normal?

I've been playing around again with iterators in 3D. A sphere is relatively straightforward and works great when the object being distributed is also a sphere. However, when distributing 3d objects with few planes of symmetry or when distributing 2d elements, the rotation of each element on the surf...

The rmtp address is for the streaming app, not Magic.

The video from Magic goes to the streaming app via Spout, NDI or HDMI. The streaming app then forwards the video (and audio) to rmtp.

Re: Using Magic to add effect to restream.io

There's three ways to get video out (and in) to Magic: Spout (or Syphon), NDI or HDMI (to a streaming or capture device). You can Spout or NDI to streaming software that supports RTMP streams - e.g. OBS. OBS supports Spout and NDI. Magic has native Spout in and out and NDI plugins (nodes) for NDI. A...

The multi-mix and the playlist are the only options for crossfading. You can control both with midi but speed of transition in the multimix only.

There's some discussion about transitions in this recent thread: viewtopic.php?t=3085

Re: Video Spectrum

It is actually really simple. The basic idea is to find ways to move two or more polygons after applying them as a mask to some content. Trouble is, in order to mask one image (e.g. sprite sheet) or video to a group of polygons, they need to be 'grouped' as one. You can get around this by masking ea...

This would be worse with layered transitions. Another ...
