Hey there,
today i reistalled windows on a new ssd, installed magic after all drivers... however when i open i get an error message pertaining to avutil-54.dll being missing also a few others in the same media folder. i tried reinstalling Magic but this did not help. i also copied the .dlls to the folder replacing the ones in there.
So how do i sort this out? in magic i dont have the video player module???
Please help, Thanks
.dll issue new install
Re: .dll issue new install
Hmm, I haven't heard of that issue before. Are you using the full installer for v1.65?
Re: .dll issue new install
yes its the full installer.
so when i first install it opens fine and the video file module is present and can be added. when i close magic and restart i then get:
magic.exe - system error
saying avutil-54.dll is missing from your computer.
i press ok , next message is same but for: avcodec-54, then again for avcodec-56 and several more errors until magic opens
then video module is missing unable to add.
checking the install directory these files are present in the media folder.....
i dont get it

Re: .dll issue new install
Ok so, its due to user account control, if i start as administrator then theres no issue, video module works all good. but if i dont then i get these errors.
happy now, but still wonder why thats happening.

Strange. To be honest, I'm stumped. If you use the official installer, you shouldn't have to worry about administrator privileges. Which Windows version are you running?
