3D Models

Post by deskmate »

Hello,
I'm having a little trouble using 3D models mostly 'cause I don't really understand them.

So far, I've brought in some .obj but most of them show up as grey, a few don't show up at all, and some just have a small white outline.

I'm able to add color to the grey one's, but can I add textures to the models?

In the manual, I see that bvh is supported. How does this work? Isn't bvh used to animate a 3d object?

great program,btw 8-)

Thanks :). Really the issue is just that Magic's support of 3D models is pretty basic: complex geometries may not be displayed properly, depending upon the format; pre-baked animation doesn't work at all (animation has to be done in Magic); and textures have to be saved with the original model (they can't be added in Magic later).

I'm hoping to expand 3D model support in the future, but I don't intend to develop an entire 3D engine from scratch so I'm not sure how far I will go with it.
