Input Sources - apply a drop-down change to all selected sources

The Input Sources Window already supports multiple row selection via the selection tabs. Helpful if it also governed the source drop-down box, so that a choice of device, channel or file on any one selected row is applied to all selected rows.
Background
I typically run 8 sources routed to the same channel of one audio device or audio file, giving each class of modules independent control. I find re-routing them individually is fiddly.
Particularly relevant when changing from an audio file source to an audio input device for use with live audio, then back to the audio file afterwards.
Also useful when changing the selected input channel on an audio device. I have two different generations (3 & 4) of Focusrite Scarlett Solo audio interfaces, and Mic and Line swap over when I change between them, so all my sources have to move from one channel to the other.
