MMV only operates at 44.1khz rather than audio interface settings
Hi there, having an issue where Magic is only able to run at 44.1khz/24bit depth, regardless of my computer or audio interface settings. Windows will be operating at 48khz/24bit depth and then switch to 44.1khz/24bit when Magic opens, and I can't seem to understand why. I'm using a Tascam Model 16 that i can set to different sample rates and bit depths, I've previously been operating at 48khz/16bit and willing to switch to 48khz/24bit but I really dont want to have everything operate at 44.1khz just to match with Magic. As far as I've seen, the manual says that Magic just matches the settings of the audio interface (no way within the program to set these), but for whatever reason, mine goes straight for 44.1khz. Anyone had similar issues/a deeper understanding of Windows sample rates and bit depths and able to assist with this?

I can assure you that there is no code anywhere in Magic that specifies a sample rate. Whatever your sound card is set to is what Magic will use.
Are you using the ASIO driver, or just the standard driver?

Using the ASIO driver for the mixer. It's weird, I can set the mixer to a fixed sample rate/bit depth, and I can also set the mixer to just match the computer's settings for sample rate/bit depth. When the mixer follows the computer, its set to 48khz/24bit, but then I'll open Magic and see it change to 44.1khz/24bit. Windows is set to 48khz/24bit but i get "USB fs match error" on my mixer when Magic is open unless my mixer is set to 44.1khz/24bit.

But are you selecting the ASIO device in Magic? You have to explicitly choose ASIO in the Input Sources window.

Does 48k/16bit have the same problem?

Yes, 48k/16bit also won't work. Only thing that makes it work in Magic is setting my mixer to 44.1k/24bit.

What about using the non-ASIO driver in Magic?

Interesting, using the non-ASIO driver for the mixer works at 48khz/16bit or 48khz/24bit but not 44.1khz. Not sure why Magic is reading 48khz on the non-ASIO driver, but 44.1khz on the ASIO driver.
Re: MMV only operates at 44.1khz rather than audio interface settings
Not sure, but keep in mind that there are two places where audio devices are configured. For ASIO, it's your device control panel. For non-ASIO, it's in Settings > Sound > Device Properties > Additional Device Properties > Advanced.

I've set it to 48khz in both places. Magic still wants to only work on the ASIO driver at 44.1khz

We’ll continue to think about this, but unfortunately I don’t have any other suggestions right now. If we had been getting several users reporting similar things, it would be an obvious bug; but I can’t even recall when we last had an issue with sample rates.
