Exporting scene to video stops scene working

Post by microbe »

I have a scene that I want to export to video. It works as expected in the magic window.

but as soon as I activate the export to movie option it's as thought the music has been stopped, it outputs the broken scene to video.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Sometimes renders can be different for various reasons (certain nodes, output resolution/framerate, codec).

Lots of helpful info and links from Sadler.
From those I'd start with Magic's post in the second link

You have to use audio/MIDI files for exporting and make sure they are hooked up to your modules properly.

Aha!
If you are using live sources to animate your scene, these won't work for movie exporting. You have to use audio/MIDI files for exporting and make sure they are hooked up to your modules properly.
That was the issue...but it is crazy that live music won't work, it means that a live performance can never be recorded on the fly.

Thanks @Sadler & @Terry Payman
