Preview Screen Goes Black during Export
Hello - I am new to Magic Music and have recently started creating content. However when I go to export movie, the magic window goes black and a black screen is what is recorded. As soon as I exit the export screen it works fine. Has anyone encountered this? I don't have anything unusual; I am using a video file and a couple of scenes but no shaders or anything.

Maybe your export resolution is too high for your graphics card? Or something like that? Have you tried different settings?

Re: Preview Screen Goes Black during Export
I don't think it's the graphics card - I'm exporting at 1080p on a 2023 Mac Mini with M2 Pro chip, 10 cores, 16GB RAM. I use Topaz AI Video Editor all the time and the machine handles it just fine.
What's even weirder about this export issue is that I designed a new visual yesterday using a custom ISF visual and a couple of spectrum modules with things like scale, color HSB, transparency, luma key, Kaleidoscope, twirl, rotate axis, and a few other modules. Displays perfectly in the magic window with the enhanced spectrum layered on top of the ISF visual. But when I go to export, the magic window will not display the spectrum visual but it will continue displaying the ISF visual. I am using audio from an internal source (VLC player, DJay Pro etc) and the spectrum is responsive to the audio until I click "export video" and then it goes away and only comes back when I exist the export window.
Since it won't display anything at all for export using any of the sample projects (nor a couple I created), but it's displaying half of the new visual I created it's got to be something with the export process itself or some underlying factor in one or more of the modules that gets hung up when trying to export.

Re: Preview Screen Goes Black during Export
I did more investigating and it seems to be an issue when using a spectrum or waveform module. Basically anything that is responsive to system audio disappears upon trying to export.

Magic won't export live audio - you'll need a capture card for that. Magic will only export when you use MP3 or wav from the input sources window.

Re: Preview Screen Goes Black during Export
I know it won't export live audio but I was expecting it to export the visual response to the audio. I tried using mp3, wav, m4a files from the input source window and it still prevents audio response visuals when exporting. So basically the application will not include any audio responsive modules when it exports. Is that to be expected?

I think you didn't hook up your audio file to the modules correctly. You need to make sure the module uses a source that is the audio file itself.
