Turn Multiple Clips On With One Button & Turn Each Off With A Separate Trigger

Post by mulherje »

I've been using magic for a long time but really only for super basic stuff. I'm putting together a more complex show and only using magic so I'm going to be digging into trickier setups. To start I was wondering how I can set up 4 video clips to all turn on with one midi trigger but then turn each off with their own unique triggers. Basically I have 4 clips that go at the same time and then each of them turn off at different times. I know how to set up a tigger for a video clip but then since I set a source when I do that I don't know how to set a separate source for powering the clip off.

I did just try setting one button on my midi pad to controlling the power param and then tried to set another to control just the trigger param but then when I press the power button I have to hold the button down for the video to continue to run. Thought this might be a good workaround but it looks like it's not a solution.

Connect your 4 videos into a Null node. To toggle all videos on, power on/off the Null. To toggle each individual video on/off, toggle the power of each video.
