null/bypass module

i would like to see a null module--a module with nothing in it-- with a bypass switch that can be controlled by an input...ok, maybe we can call this a "bypass" module?
i find myself wanting to group/cable several modules into a single one and then cabling out to various destination(s) from there...the current work around i suppose is to simply add a module like "scale" without changing any of the parameters, but there isn't a current way to automate the bypass switch via midi or audio or "(no source)"...
the bypass module could be useful if, for example, a scene contains several GLSL shaders used for background and each are connected to it's own bypass switch...then, through midi/audio triggers, each of those GLSL module can be switched on/off to simply change the background for the current scene...
i suppose another option is to give the ability to any module to assign an input to the bypass switch but i thought it may be simpler just to have a dedicated module to do this...
