Use 2 or 3 web cams at the same time on Win 11?

Post by jenz »

Hi and merry x-mas!!

I recently bought an Acer Nitro 5 laptop with Win 11 and I am using the latest version of Magic. All is running well except that Magic won't let me use my C920 and my built-in webcam at the same time. When I was running Magic on my old Mac I could do that. Is it a Windows problem?

In the same scene, one camera or the other works but not both. If i reset a camera, the other stops working and the same thing happens even I put them in two separated scenes. If I use one camera (C920 or the laptop's built-in camera) and one streaming camera (my old iPhone) all is working fine.

Is it a bug or can Magic do that and I'm doing something wrong?

Thanx for pointing me in the right direction.

This could be a limitation of your computer's USB bus. Each USB controller has a limited bandwidth. If your computer only has one USB controller for all USB ports, you're stuck unfortunately.

This also explains why your iPhone wouldn't be affected.

I’m using a powered USB bus... It's a USB 2 Hub... Would it solve the problem if I used a powered USB 3 Hub even if the C920 uses USB 2?
