EDIT: In the end I reinstalled my earlier version. It had all the modules and now works again.
My final result after many attempts at reinstallation is that Magic scans modules etc then says "Starting" and freezes. Clicking the frozen icon results in Magic crashing and reporting to Microsoft.
I will not go into detail about all that has happened. I cannot remember it all and it would take a long, possibly inaccurate or incomplete, post.
I tried reinstalling because Magic has stopped working as I posted earlier today. When I reinstalled, I was asked to remove the existing Magic and said Yes. When I fired up Magic, it said that _none_ of the modules was available and all screen modules were minimised.
There seemed to b e other issues with licence keys as well. I am not sure what exactly was going on as it seemed different every time.
As I say, the last install just freezes on start up
