"Activation failed"

V2.31, registered. Win 10 64 bit

Sorry if this is a duplicate, but I did a search on "activation" and found only one topic, that did not seem to explain my problem.

I was using Magic last evening...sober.. :) and all was fine. This morning I was told activation had failed and to check my internet connection (which I had just been using and AFAIK I only need that on first activation (??).

I went to my emails and found the one that had the activation code, which I used to gain admission.

So problem solved, but why did this happen?

The Studio edition needs to check the license with the server every 30 days.

If you have the Performer edition, the only reason the activation might fail is if you change your hardware.

Thanks Eric. I have the performer edition and have made no changes to hardware....no new CPU, installation of Win10, or HDDs, the usual culprits. Also, there was nothing wrong with my Net connection.

I will wait to see if it happens again before I pursue it :)
