Trouble Getting MMV to Recognise and LoaANY FFGL Plug-ins..?

HI thanks for a great program.. I love the organisation and layout of the program and simplicity of use- the ability to save and switch between scenes as scenes in a performance or shared processing units to switch in and out is great too.

I am very keen to use little components or plug-ins made in Vuo and exported as FFGL plugins- I have tested the same plugins with VDMX and found them to be working.. but regardless of whether I add FFGL folder from the system drive or another folder and tried FFGL distributed by other people or made by myself- but none seem to show up in the MMV loading page.

I have successfully added my own folder of collected and customised ISF's. .. this has worked great

..Dunno maybe I ve just overload the add directory with too many ifs?

Anyone successfully loaded a folder or even individual FFGL plugins. .. on Mac. Catalina. ? thanks kindly for any help or suggestions. , cheers Paul

Make sure your FFGLs are 64-bit. Magic has been 64-bit only for a while now.

Thanks Eric
I will check through my collection and Vuo docs to check for 64 bit only

HI again,
checked VUO only works with 64 bit ffgl
I can easily Add Module from help menu for any ISF folders -which is great!
But I still cannot get it recognise any FFGL bundles/plug ins or Folders? VDMX recognises same FFGL folders and plugins. Apologies if Im doing something silly..

thanks again Paul

If you post a link for me to download one of your FFGLs that VDMX recognizes but Magic doesn't, I can test it.

Thanks Eric
Unfortunately absolutely NO FFGL plugins are being recognised via the ADD MODULES
ISF folders working great
have tried custom folder locations, recommended FFGL examples from Forum
and default Library/Graphics folder which VDMX and VUo reference.
Will try and add one of the Vuo FFGL that works in VDMX via the attach files button below or this link

I tried your FFGL on macOS High Sierra and it worked fine. But then I tried it on Big Sur and it didn't work. So I think it might have something to do with the security settings, because every new macOS version seems to be more and more restrictive in terms of what files you can open. Honestly I'm not sure why VDMX would load an FFGL but Magic wouldn't. I'll try to keep investigating. But it's worth noting that your FFGL is considered to be from an "unidentified developer" when used on Big Sur.

EDIT: Doing something like this (https://discourse.vidvox.net/t/vdmx-mac ... uide/942/2) might help, not sure.

Hi thanks Eric
for looking into this frustrating little annoyance!
The FFGL plugin was made and exported from VUO
but I cannot get any FFGL from anywhere to show up at all in Magic
I am on Catalina, additional ISF folders and plugins showing up easily.
I tried the terminal commands without any success
I also checked all Security permissions for Magic- Full Disk Access , Files and Folders.
Not sure if this is any help but I have noticed that VDMX sometimes takes a while to compile and show up new FFGL plugins when put in the Library/Graphics/FreeFrame Plug-ins folder

hope you are able to work out this mystery- let me know if I can try, report or test anything to help
cheers Paul

Hi, I recently bought the bigwig video feedback 64-bit ffgl plugin for osx.

I am running Magic Performer v2.31 64-bit on big sur 11.5.1.

I am unable to load the bundle file in Magic.

I have tried putting it in /Library/Graphics/FreeFrame Plug-Ins
I have also tried putting it in a directory under my users home directory.
Added these locations to the additional modules for magic.
Still not seeing anything.

I have used the command line to remove the quarantine from the. bundle file.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Is there any logging I can check to see why the ffgl plugin is not loading?

@Paul, can I ask how you managed to resolve this issue?

I sent him an updated version of Magic that has less restrictive security settings for loading external modules on Big Sur. If you contact us through our contact page I will do the same for you.
