Yup, we're planning to add more 3D geometry. In the meantime sites like http://turbosquid.com are a good place to get models, many of them are free.

What kind of effects were you thinking?

i dunno like maybe an "array" where you can have a certain number of copies in the x or y or z directions.

also more geometry options for the starfield like other 3D shapes instead of just circles.

+1 for better particle system and arrays :)

Theres also blendswap.com which has tons of free models for the free 3d software blender. You have to keep in mind the creative commons licences though.

already supported!...simply cable the 3d model module in to the starfield and tick the "use input" box....in fact, the "use input" is not limited to just models ;)

Partially true :). You can use a model as an input to the Starfield, but it will be "rendered" into an image first (as we were coincidentally just discussing in this post: http://magicmusicvisuals.com/forums/vie ... t=251#p935). So you'll lose the 3D depth information.

What's really needed is a true 3D particle system which has geometry with depth. Right now the Starfield just uses "sprites" -- 2D images that always face the camera (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sprite_%28 ... Move_to_3D).

+1 for an array, especially with the cool 3d models!
