How can you cause 3d z-axis manipulation from Motion mask?

I would like to know if anyone knows how to cause 3D manipulation derived from another layer mask or something similar. An example would be like the bottom being an image/video layer and the top causing a 3D ripple or similar effect. An effect that would in turn manipulate the actual video layer by stretching and skewing the video layer? Is this possible? Really though I think that with Magic anything is possible ;)

The video height field has 3D axis rotation. But there are lots of ways and it is good to discover your own.

Sorry to intervene on your post smhopton, just having a look at the screenshot that sadler posted. I've never come across the VIDEO HEIGHTFIELD+ module in Magic Visualiser. I have the performer edition and latest version. Can you tell me where it should be. Thanks!!

Thanks BTW sadler for replying on my post, I didn't receive a notification that you replied.
