what i want: use different ranges of notes on my midi piano for different input selectors.

what happenes: both ranges control both selectors, which is problematic as i want to control them seperately.

solution ideas:
-some modifier/expression magic to have the inputSelector ignore certain ranges of notes
-reconfigure my piano to have certain note ranges on a different midi channel. this is unfortunately not possible on mine
-use some external software to remap certain notes to another midi channel (any recommendations?)


unfortunately my midi piano even has the drum pads and the piano share the same channel, and no apparent way to change that.

Unfortunately an Expression modifier wouldn't work backwards to prevent a module from receiving all the notes in the first place. The "filtering" of the notes would need to happen at the MIDI source level, before the MIDI messages get sent to the modules. Perhaps in the future I can look to add an option in the Audio/MIDI window to filter certain MIDI channel messages.

Bome in particular is an industry standard and actively developed, but it is not free.

BTW, I tested Tobias's loopmidi and it works fine: You can create/delete/mute midi ports on the fly. What you need for your purpose with this one is a piece of midi software that can split incoming notes, change midi channels. I think you could try Mutools's MUX, a modular VST plugin that can be loaded with SAVIhost (tiny VST host with assignable audio and midi in/outs). The demo version introduce a white noise from time to time, but as long as you only use it for midi, it should be fine, and you can do a lot of transformations on your midi flow. I can make a template if needed.
