Using external microphone with magic
Using external microphone with magic
How would i go about setting up an external microphone with my laptop? My laptop only has a headphone jack, no microphone jack. I want to use an external mic so it picks up sound better and my visuals will respond better live. Does this have anything to do with the spout receiver or spout v2? I assume ill have to connect external mic through USB? Once i get external mic set up, what settings do i need to change within magic so it uses the external mic instead of the internal mic?

Changing the audio device is easy: https://magicmusicvisuals.com/downloads ... udioDevice
Getting a USB mic would definitely improve your sound quality. There are a lot of different USB mics to choose from. Some of them are very affordable. It just depends on your budget.
Another solution would be to get a USB sound card, which would then let you connect a standard XLR (non-USB) microphone. It would also let you connect directly to the audio output of the performer(s), which would actually be better than using a microphone (which would pick up ambient noise).

No, Spout isn't related to audio https://magicmusicvisuals.com/downloads ... poutOutputDoes this have anything to do with the spout receiver or spout v2?
