Can not check for new version
Re: Can not check for new version
Sorry about that. We increased our server's security settings a few months ago. This doesn't affect most people, but for some users who are running Windows 7, the following options may need to be enabled in the Control Panel:
Alternatively, you can always download the latest version at https://magicmusicvisuals.com/getfullversion

Re: Can not check for new version
Hi, I'm having the same issue. I'm on Windows 10 and the above InternetOptions were already checked, and I already upgraded to version 2.5 but still getting:
Unfortunately, activation failed.
The activation server returned an invalid response.
Try again?
Any help?

Re: Can not check for new version
There was a recent Windows update (in February) that has a bug and is causing network issues. We've had several users contact us about it, so you're not alone. Luckily, some of the users have figured out a solution. This is what worked for different people:
- Using your phone hotspot network or any other network besides your usual one
- Making sure Magic hasn't been incorrectly blocked by Windows Defender Firewall
- Turning off your VPN
- Making sure you have the latest Windows updates OR upgrading to Windows 11 if possible
- Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset
- Set your network to Private (not Public)
