Hi,
Is it possible, and how, to route Reaper tracks, midi or audio, to Magic?
If it would work, I could directly "connect" each Reaper track to Magic (one visualization per instrument) without having to load wav tracks in Magic (excuse my bad English, I hope your understand me).
I'd be glad to get a scheme.
Main thanks
Raymond
Routing from Reaper
Re: Routing from Reaper
Hi Raymond, yes there are many ways you can do that. For your situation, it would probably be best to use a third-party utility.
Here is our tutorial on routing audio with several different options: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10
For MIDI I generally recommend this: http://www.nerds.de/en/loopbe1.html

Hi,
Thanks for the information. I'll try next week-end.
I'm using the demo version. Should I get performer or studio edition to do that ?

Re: Routing from Reaper
You can use the Demo version to try everything out. When you are ready to purchase, you would need to get the Performer edition if you want MIDI functionality.

HI! That loopbe1 appears to be Windows only. Do you have a similar thing to recommend on the Mac?
Re: Routing from Reaper
Yes, actually the functionality is built into Mac . It's in the utility called "Audio MIDI Setup". You can configure the virtual MIDI routings with the IAC driver. There are a bunch of tutorials on the web if you search around a bit, for example:

Re: Routing from Reaper
Hi,
First, I’d like to route audio outputs from Reaper to Magic (one per track) but it seems not possible with a stereo sound card because Magic doesn’t recognize the DAW outputs, but only the Device (sound card) outputs. Am I wrong?
Now MIDI : I didn’t bring it to work. LoopBe30 is installed on my PC. It was shipped with Liquid Notes (http://www.re-compose.com/liquid-notes- ... tware.html). Installing LoopBe30 creates 16 midi inputs named “internal midi devices”.
I tried to link Reaper to Magic the same way I do it between Reaper and Liquid Notes:
In Reaper:
Track 01: internal midi 1 (16 available) / all channels (16 available)
Tack 02: internal midi 2 / all channels
Etc…
With other DAWs, it’s possible to use a single “internal midi device” and link it to 1-16 channels.
So I opened a music project in reaper and then opened Magic, with the “DemoProject.magic” project, and the bass track routed to “internal midi 1 / channel 1 (in the Audio/Midi window).
The scale variation is linked to velocity. But preview and Magic scene screens remain blank, when music is played from Reaper.
What can I do ?

Re: Routing from Reaper
Not all sound cards inherently support connecting different applications. But you can use software to do it. Check out the tutorial link I posted earlier and try one of the utilities such as http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Cable/First, I’d like to route audio outputs from Reaper to Magic (one per track) but it seems not possible with a stereo sound card because Magic doesn’t recognize the DAW outputs, but only the Device (sound card) outputs. It seems like you are doing it correctly, but it all depends on how your Magic project is configured. Can you post a screenshot? The scale variation is linked to velocity. But preview and Magic scene screens remain blank, when music is played from Reaper.
