Hi guys, anyone tested the Dante protocol with Magic?
https://www.audinate.com/solutions/dante-overview
I have installed Dante Virtual Card and its read in Magic, but don't have the set up to test it right now, just curious about people's feedback on performance/reliability.
Thanks!
Dante Network Audio
Re: Dante Network Audio
I'm not familiar with that one unfortunately, but have you experimented with JACK (http://jackaudio.org) at all? Not only does JACK provide multi-channel inter-application routing (like Soundflower), it also provides network-based routing (see this page: http://jackaudio.org/faq/netjack.html).
JACK is complicated to use, but it's free and very robust. I've had good success with it doing inter-application routing, but I've never tried the network functionality.

Re: Dante Network Audio
Thanks Eric, yes I have looked at Jack on windows as Vcable does not support multi channel, jack was the only solution i found in windows that is similar to sound-flower, although more difficult to set up as you mentioned. Jack is a good solution for routing within and between computers (I haven't tested the network option though). Dante I find more interesting for live scenarios where a FOH audio desk is involved, most desks can have dante cards installed allowing for a direct multi channel connection between desk and laptop with just one cat5 cable. Pretty neat solution instead of audio interfaces and lots of TSR/XLR cables
