Image quality lost when scaling down or translating away

Hi,

I noticed that when an image is scaled down (<1), then it will have lost its original detail for further effects in the scene. Same thing when the image is translated of a negative amount on the Z axis. I would have hoped for no quality loss...

Is there a way to avoid this issue?

Thanks for your answer, but I somehow can't reproduce the issue any longer. So let's say for now that the issue is closed.
