input selector

Post by dj0le »

Question:

Is there any way to crossfade/transition scenes with the input selector? I'm looking for a solution to play a bunch of scenes as a background, but when the input selector switches the change is very abrupt.

afaik Eric implemented the mix and multimix module for this purpose. however they do need their inputs already loaded, therefore they use up more framerates i think.

Yup I'd suggest looking at Multimix. It fades between inputs, and like InputSelector, it only renders the active input(s), so your framerate shouldn't be affected.

Follow up question on multimix.

What parameters can I use so that the fading between 2 individual scenes is only for a few seconds and not the entire time? Optimally, I'm looking to have a single background scene play for ~30 seconds then fade into the next one over 2-3 seconds and then that one plays ~30 seconds before fading to the next one.

Here's a quick example:

You can play with the Increase and Smooth parameters to adjust the timing. Let me know if you have any questions.
