instancing and killing triggered image inputs

Post by artantique »

hi there,

hopefully the more experienced users can help me with the following:

the situation (skippable :))
I want to create a video to accompany an artist's performance. the artist has multiple piezoelectric elements attached to her body, which will create impulses that are going to be picked up in Ableton.
in the video, that will be projected simultaneously, I'm hoping to register these sounds as follows: horizontal lines should show the output of the different elements (each element a single line), and each line will have a couple of symbols to indicate the frequency ranges. the end result should be a clear real-time registration of the audio outputs caused by the performance.

the problem
now, my problem is (and this has probably been brought up a couple of times already): how do I create instances of a single image input that are triggered 'on' (or set to visible), that have a lifespan until they disappear off the screen and follow a path until they're killed?

thanks a lot in advance,

Joachim

There are probably many different ways to design something like that :). Some of the following topics might be a good place to start:

- the Translate module (https://magicmusicvisuals.com/downloads ... #Translate), which lets you position things using X, Y, or Z parameters

- the Increase modifier (https://magicmusicvisuals.com/downloads ... oModifiers), which lets you increase parameter values over time

- the JpegFolder module (https://magicmusicvisuals.com/downloads ... JpegFolder), which lets you display and navigate through a folder of Jpeg images

- the Image module (https://magicmusicvisuals.com/downloads ... html#Image), which displays one image at a time in any format

- the Power parameter (https://magicmusicvisuals.com/downloads ... passParams), which lets you control a module's visibility by turning it on and off using audio or MIDI or modifiers

It will be worth your time to do a bit of reading in the User's Guide, but feel free to let me know if you have any questions after that.
