been doing a lot of tests and experiments leading up to an event in july where i'll do visuals for two friends who control the dj set. thought i'd post them here. to avoid youtube music trouble i'll use my mega account. hope that's not too big a hassle. i'm all ears for free in-browser solutions.
this one is my most recent test. found a dancing woman before a greenscreen on videoblocks and quickly played around with a b/w version of it:

here i rendered out two rooms in blender and then tried to make a seamless transition from one to the other in magic:

and here i made a simple circle-ish animation in blender which i then let control by the music in magic and 'go to start'. it *kinda* works.

blackdot's experiments
Re: blackdot's experiments
Cool! I really like the one with the dancer. I think there's lots of potential there for interesting things. Besides adding different effects, I'm imagining video capture of live dancers with chroma-keyed green screens, or animating 3D models, etc.
As for in-browser video solutions, if you upload an .mp4 video file to any server (make sure it's https though), you can do this:
And it should work the same as embedded YouTube or Vimeo, etc.

Re: blackdot's experiments
ah i just figured out how to use your chromakey glsl shader, didnt know about it yet. yeah that's pretty cool. i had actually removed the greenscreen in a video editing program, unknowing me .
with an isf>singlepass>exposure adjust you'll get the dancer also almost totally white-ish.
that's a cool idea with a real dancer. i wonder if the latency would be low enough so that you could project this back on your dancer in realtime .
i'll try that with the media tag and mp4. thanks.

Re: blackdot's experiments
Great - love the clouds idea! Would be nice if the skyscrapers could turn black with lit windows during the night.
Re: blackdot's experiments
here something new
you might think how i got cubes "rendered so nicely". i faked having actual cubes that move individually, by rendering 5 different loopable videos in blender containing the same cubes but with slight size increases. then i use the beatclock in magic to shift through the 5 videos, which basically are 5 frames of a new video now . bit like an image sequence that is controlled by the beatclock, but instead of images, they're videos . it's a bit crazy maybe. what would i give for a sophisticated 3d engine .
in the end i still have 300 fps left btw (double buffering deactivated).
