This is mostly a shoutout to the devs, and an observation.
I discovered MMV about a week ago, and I've been looking for it since maybe 2015...this software specifically, but not intentionally. I have seen videos that I now understand came directly from this software based on some of the older templates. The users whose content I discovered seemed very secretive about it. I'm not mad at them, but dang this is what I was looking for and could have saved hundreds of hours (and dollars) using everything from RedGiant, BorisFX, PixelFilmStudios, Adobe AE, Apple Motions, etc. While AE is quite good, real-time rendering and the plethora of possibilities is just unmatched in my category of needs.
My main objective was to provide some visual stimulation to music synthesizer demos, like what ReFX does for Nexus expansions on YouTube. Now I'm down a few rabbit holes about ISF, GLSL, and feel inspired to relearn some math.
What baffles me is why it has been so hard to find this site. Maybe I overlooked it a long time ago. If it wasn't for an obscure reddit post I'd still be in the dark. There's probably a thousand nerds like me wondering if something like MMV exists. You fill a great niche and need more exposure.

Re: Discovering MMV
Some for me. I was looking for this as well for a long time. For live music visuals MMV is so so strong, but I really had to find it in the 'shadows'. For sure MMV needs more exposure.
Re: Discovering MMV
I reckon the name is part of the problem - search for resolume, vvvv, vdmx, chataine, touchdesigner you're only going to get one result. Search for magic music visuals and you don't know what you'll get.
Re: Discovering MMV
+1, tough to get SEO working on our side with a name like this, I really wish there are easier ways to gather resources, maybe within a specific subreddit or a Discord server, but I also understand their preference to just have them all in one place, traffic gains and all that.
Re: Discovering MMV
Well, when my new content is out, I'll be sure to link the tools in the YT description. I'm the type of guy that shares the sauce. Would be cool to have some kind of trackable affiliate link (not even for revenue) just to know how effective a particular channel's reach is. I could actually roll my own forwarding link to see how many people click through.
Re: Discovering MMV
I'll give this a "me too".
After wrestling with Tixl (tooll3) and Touch Designer and taking ages to understand them, finding MMV by accident a couple of weeks ago was a joy. After 1 hour of playing I bought it.
I also agree with the name issue, it isn't a bad name in itself, but in the context of having your software found, it sucks.
I sent the devs a "well done and thank you" message this week.

I noticed this too! I thought maybe I just wasn’t looking in the right places, but it really does seem like there isn’t a lot of content out there about Magic. And what is there is often several years old. It’s a real shame that such a powerful program isn’t more well known.
