Key Frames

Post by BenLiebrand »

Some settings just need to be changed at a certain moment, rather than having a source triggering it.

So, keyframes, measured from the start point, and whilst we're at it, perhaps also triggered by a moment determined by what actual time it is.
Like a set change, or even New Years Eve Countdown

Any Increase modifier acts as a timer from the start of a scene (or a reset) at which you can choose your moment. There is also the PlaybackTime internal that is a timer from the start of the loaded audio. Both in seconds.

There's no absolute time for a clock but there are no doubt many apps out there that will send midi or OSC at certain absolute times.

I've had a look, but can't find either. Would you mind sending a screenshot

There's a fairly comprehensive discussion (with screenshots) about responding to time-based events in this thread: viewtopic.php?t=2950

If you need more basic info on the Increase modifier, look here: https://magicmusicvisuals.com/downloads ... oModifiers

And the Internals: https://magicmusicvisuals.com/downloads ... alFeatures

Thanks for the answers so far.

I am aware and proficient in using most modifiers, have a look:
https://vimeo.com/417006308 (Kraftwerk)
https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/518003370 (Daft Punk)

But as for something like key frames...

So, something like it IS possible, but not in any efficient kind of way.
If I have to check in an external linear editor for the exact times anyway, I might as well do what needs to be done there.

hoping for,
-An exact player that features exact time read out (with frame forward and reverse navigation)
-A timeline editor, displaying keyframes, as any makeshift alternative would eventually have to lead to a timeline editor anyway.

Once again,
Appreciate your answers and time.

:) Ben
