Where is the Auto-Save File Location

I recently lost some work on a project. I have the auto-save feature enabled, but I cannot find where the files are being saved to.

Can someone help me find where the auto-save puts your files by default?

I am running this on a Macbook pro 2018 using Big Sur.

As a follow-up, according to the user manual, I am looking for where "The copy will be saved in the current user's temp directory. "

For windows users they're stored here:
C:\Users\<<user>>\AppData\Local\Temp\MagicBackups
