ARM native support for Apple computers?

Post by nick »

Hi Magic team! Is it planned to transition Magic to the new generation of Apple processors?

Possibly, but I can't say exactly when.

In a previous post here, someone mentioned that it ran on a Mac M1 under Rosetta. Is there anyone here running magic on a new M1?

Magic kills my old macbook pro at gigs and we're thinking of investing in a mac mini. I'd love to hear if anyone is running it successfully.

We have an M1 Mini here in the office and it runs Magic fine, but if you are doing serious gigs then you should invest in something more powerful, maybe with a discrete graphics card.

Just want to add, that I've been using Magic for a while on my Mac Studio and although Magic works great in isolation it can bog down when I'm streaming with OBS. As such, I am curious about the possibility of improved performance with future arm native support!

(To be clear though; I am trying to push the limits here as I run the visuals at 4K and live stream or record at 4K too)
