transparent backgrounds

Post by pstet43 »

Is there a way to have no background color behind the object that is being visualized,
that is, a totally transparent screen backdrop? For the work I want to do in Magic Music,
that is very important, and I couldn't find a way to do that in the manual or tutorials.

Thank You!!

Images and video can have transparency (alpha) and other elements don't have backgrounds (polys, models etc.)

To get transparency in images use PNG or transparent GIF. To have transparency in video use HAP or ProRes 4444. DXV2 also supports alpha and plays in Magic but DXV3 with alpha doesn't.

If you have an image or video with a constant colour background you can 'key' this out in real-time in Magic. ChromaKey for green and blue and LumaKey for black backgrounds are included in Magic. These are included in the user guide https://magicmusicvisuals.com/downloads ... s2DModules
