Three Tenors

Post by visuality »

Video Best viewed in HD mode, Audio best heard with Headphones

Very long video! The beginning is a warm up sequence then some adjustments then to another sequence. Visually, Just a folder fully of colorful jpegs, glitched and sent to mirror. Playback speed is controlled by audio volume, glitching functions driven by the same, I did not do any design on this one, Instead I just let everything play itself out, letting the audio control all the params where I thought change might be interesting, its a very unfinished old school look of the classic VJ archetype  . Looking back, a powerful story could have been told, just saying, when using pics in this way, saying something is always better than hoping fx will carry you. All things being equal, i.e. all of us having the same tools, only what you say and the style in witch you do it, will be ever be the difference, thats what makes anything distinctively yours.

On the audio side of things...a Frap tools Brenso is being fed CV data from the right quadrant of Mutable Instruments Marbles, Marbles is being fed CV from Make Noise Maths, Brenso has two signal outputs, signwave, its first OSC output, and "final" OSC(s) are the second output, btw"Final" on Brenso is like 8 Oscs by itself, the "final" OSC jack out is being send to Erica Synths Fusion Filter, a Moog style 24 db filter with a physical cathode tube built into it for extra crunch and girth in the mids, that signal is then fed into Magneto for smoothing analog warmth, dimension and a tape like sound along with the other, the end of chain passes to Octrack, I really believe it has a color to it as well, just my thoughts. The rest is knob twiddling, very experimental stuff. As with all my stuff, there may be moments of intense volume gain. Hope all are well, please stay safe.

As you said, I'm not sure what the narrative story is, or even if there is one, but the overall visual aesthetic is very enjoyable and professional-looking. I always like your stuff, keep up the good work.
