Some music, some magic

Post by visuality »

Made a whole bunch of new patches that I have to turn into to videos. Here is one, I know, I know, why doesn't it change from one scene to the next, well my goal is to create single patches that kinda do it all...in a procedural and generative way :ugeek: . Everything created in magic in this patch (outside of the open source video), the glsl patches I used on the center parts as toon effects are not another artist glsl toon patch, but rather a chain of basic fx put together by individual patches that formulate my own custom toon shader. The chain goes somehing like Traughner(? like a highpass in photoshop) to create black and white outlines from a color photo, using the same image point it to a blur to remove details, insert saturation to make blur cartoon like OR water color like, you can take that result and overlay a image against itself to make it stronger finally overlay a traughtner to redefine edges, Go figure it works just like a 3D shader stack :) Yes I made the audio and yes I like it like it glitchy and unfinished sounding. Hope everyone is well.

Nice cartoon effect!
Don't really understand: did you write a glsl shader or did you use Magic modules?

Nicely done. I love the graphic style.

Curious, where did you source the video?

Thanks Skarabee, It is a mix of glsl, isf and magic modules. I study how a shader creates a effect, that is, the sub effects in that shader. I then find shaders that can do the same thing but in a way that work for me, then rebuild it in magic as a shader chain. A chain I can always rebuild it as code when I fully know GLSL.

Also Curious, do you know of other databases in HD? I am actually searching for sites but I will start one if there is no free resource out there for HD Clips. I dont care if they are from Iphones as long as it usable, I really need people and close ups. Would love models. Below are the sources my content was from. Mazwai is laggy, it doesn't load fast.

You-tube sets resolution at 360 by default!! Be sure to select HD, these clips are very short.

These are just clips, art clips, very experimental stuff, part of a reel a reel im putting together. I also did a Motion Graphics experiment with magic and the result I think is pretty good, be sure to use HD, the Prada thing is not a official gig, it's a test of how I can use magic as a content creation tool for that sort of stuff (branding). It's ideas I've been playing with.

Magic for Branding, can it work? Of Course it can! Made 100% with magic and trails, a 2 png images, synthesizing scale, position, rotation.

Thanks so much! First off, accept my apologies, I do not bother view my older post, I would never ignore a fellow creative intentionally, it is not my way. Regarding the sharing of work, I try to share patches that help users with their own designs, I haven't done too many but they are scattered about in the forums. My most recent was a way to fake metallic looks on any 3D object you import, simply use a color node to make it what ever type of metal you please.

See Fake metal for Magic (* includes the patch):
