Copy and paste to existing project

Post by Sadler »

If one copies nodes to the clipboard one is able to paste them into a new project, no problem. However, if one copies nodes and then opens another project the clipboard is cleared. Oftentimes when experimenting in a new project I'd like to copy the nodes into a new scene in an existing project.

Can the clipboard be preserved across project file loading?

Hmm this might be a bug, I'll investigate.

Copy and paste to existing project
+1, and further:

Copy/paste between two simultaneous instances of Magic.
This would further facilitate the use of one instance as a project browser for the other. For this purpose I find it helpful to use one Light UI & one Dark to facilitate discrimination between the two sets of windows.

Light UI/Dark UI as command-line option in addition to -mi
Useful even if just one instance, give the option of startup in either mode as desired.

A further thought
Preserve connections to the Magic module
When copying a scene having many connections to the Magic (output) module it would be useful to automatically preserve these when pasting to an "empty" scene, perhaps by substituting a "dummy module" for the Magic module (which would also make it easy to paste into non-empty scenes).
