Suggestion: reset button on nodes

Post by JEL »

This is just an idea :)

When you play around with certain nodes, say the translate-node for example, or the scale-node, I would like a reset-option that can be selected when I right-click the node so that all settings can quickly be reset back to their start-values.

I'm thinking this is an easy way to get back to neutral settings when you've done som 'image mashup' with the mouse scroll-wheel and want to bring it back to normal scale.

Thanks

Have you tried double clicking on the modifier label?

Thanks for the suggestion :)
Yes, but that only resets a single value, not the entire node.

You can just replace the node and all params will reset.

Thanks, I didn't know about that one :)

A dedicated reset-button is still on my wish-list though (it would be a tad faster when your building and experimenting with settings and want to start over from scratch, or if you're mashing up the settings LIVE and want to return to base quickly)

I agree that it's a good idea. Unfortunately we're not adding any new features for this release (to ensure maximum stability), but I will certainly put it on my to-do list for the future.

I don't know if I can fit another button in the module title bar area, but maybe a keyboard shortcut would work just as well?

A keyboard-shortcut is an even better idea :) (faster to use than mouse)
Thank you.

A side-note on stability; So far it has been rock-solid on windows10-x64 (Geforce GTX 980)
It also loads/runs old projects without issues.
Good job :)

I copy any node before messing with it just to be able to use Replace it to Reset, without going back to default. It's also handy to paste another copy down to compare values. I'll often route both through an Input Selector to A/B test.

Hmm, copying it is an interesting work-method :)
So you kind of have a back-up of it in ram you can quickly paste back via replace?
