Ok, so.. I had posted some months back about a perceived performance issue.....
Now, I am totally clear on what the REAL problem is. My graphics card is bottom of the line. My ASUS F550L uses a GeForce GT 720M....I started to realise it was sub par when working on a project in Pure Data/GEM.
I have realised now that with some module intensive projects the frame rate barely hits 15 in 1.65. I had also rendered a project a while back and the results seems a bit sub-par....glitchy with some drop outs and a bit pixelated.
Would this be normal considering my sub par gpu?
Graphics Card and Performance
Re: Graphics Card and Performance
Yes, a low frame rate is definitely possible with a lower-end GPU like that. But it really depends on how complicated your project is.
As far as drop-outs and pixelation, I can't say for sure, but those could occur if the GPU is running low on memory. Do you have any video examples you could post to YouTube?

Was most definitely the graphics card...
After upgrading to an Alienware I commonly run between 110-120 fps now..
