Shader crashes

Post by Corlian »

Hi! I love Magic and have used it in various ways for years. Just recently upgraded to performer to create a live set.

I am exploring Shadertoy for the first time and I'm having inconsistent results. Some shaders work as expected. Some load yet don't work as expected.

Other shaders crash Magic. Am I doing something wrong? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Here are two shaders that crash my MMV:

And one that loads but doesn't work as expected (it's frozen in time and I assume it moves like on the site):

Thanks in advance!

No crashes for either of the first two shaders on my system - they run without issue.

I converted to ISF using the VIDVOX ISF editor https://isf.vidvox.net/desktop-editor/ which can import directly from Shadertoy. Note that some shaders will not convert successfully, and some will need editing to remove compilation errors in the editor.

I only had a quick look at the third shader, which was static in Magic. The Shadertoy version uses the mouse as input combined with time, so the ISF will need editing to provide alternative inputs and motion.

Note that all these shaders have the default Shadertoy restriction to non-commercial use.
