Guitar strings animation

Post by kacey101 »

Hi

Has anyone tried creating a clip simulating the look of vibrating guitar strings?

So far I have created the 6 strings in a 3D space (using 6 iterations of very thin, long polygons - rotated) and I'm using Edge Distort with the Intensity linked to the volume of the audio source to try to simulate the string vibrations. This is looking OK but if anyone has other ideas, I'd love to hear them.
Be gentle, I am very much a beginner with this.

Thanks

Here is my take on this using four nodes and one global. Not physically accurate but a nice feel to it (IMHO).

and the global:

I give a similar example of adding subtle audio visualisation in this tutorial.

Many thanks. You have certainly given me a lot of ideas to think about. I appreciate your time.

Thanks again
