OBS & MMV - camera capture interaction/priority

Post by frank_halfwong »

Hi everyone,

I'm new to MMV, and after trying to find information in the user manual without any success, I'm turning to this forum. I'm using the performance version.

Two questions:

1-OBS and MMV seem to compete for control of the camera feed. some of my scenes in OBS would rather use the raw camera feed. Is there a way to allow OBS to connect to the camera at the same time as MMV?
2-MMV's green chomra isn't as clean as OBS, for the simple reason that the camera's color options aren't changeable in MMV (they are OBS), is there a work around?

Thank you!

I don't think two applications can directly use the same camera at the same time.

There is a module called "Chroma Mask" which gives you more control, but also needs more GPU power.

Re 1 - I think the OBS-Virtualcam plugin may do what you need, making a camera connected to OBS also visible to another application. Any such software is liable to increase your CPU load.

I saw the reference here:

..and a search for "OBS Virtualcam" lead me here:
