Use Midi Note to momentarily trigger an image.

Post by Sajaye »

So,
I can't figure this out,
how to make a midi note trigger an image from 0 to 1 or greater
in the scale module, so that it functions like the audio version, meaning when the
midi note is not being triggered the screen is blank (0), and when the midi note is hit
like by a kick drum triggering midi note 36:C1 the image momentarily displays on the screen (1 or larger),
and then immediately disappears and returns back to zero (0) when the kick drum is not hitting the pad, I tried different modifier
combinations, but was not able to figure out how to do this with midi, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

This is a pretty basic function, you don't need any modifiers. If you already have it working for audio then it's as simple as changing the Scale module's source(s) to your desired MIDI note.

I couldn't get it to work, it does not disappear.
If I tap loud it gets big, if I tap soft it gets small,
But it never resets to a blank screen, can you
Clarify what I'm doing wrong, or maybe post
The right settings?

When you release the MIDI key, your controller either needs to send a Note Off message or a Velocity=0 message. Does it send either of those?

Thank you so much for your reply, I tried it with another midi device and it worked perfectly as is,
but with the original device it was set to velocity 100 so that the image never disappeared,
it was a total user error, and your software works as intended, thank you and sorry
taking your time, love your software by the way!!!
