Slow scale or Zoom

Post by jmccann96 »

I have tried both of these nodes, and while I feel like I'm on the right track, there is something I'm missing. I have an image that I want to start super close up and very very slowly zoom out.

I know it's just a matter of which expressions I use and in which order.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Do you mean zoom out very slowly or start very slowly? You can use almost any function you like (x, 1/x, x^2, sin(x) etc.) but I find this quite challenging mainly because zoom speed is dependent on the content and is also quite subjective. For example, zooming out from an exquisite eye, I'd want the zoom to linger on the various eye parts on the way out but then speed up when the surroundings become less interesting. You can always head over to desmos to visualise functions.
