Logic Pro X Ver 10.5.1 (most current version)
Magic now adds 20 seconds to the end of the loaded midi file.
The exported mp3 file is correct in length (related midi file not loaded)
The previous version of Logic (10.4.8) exported midi as designed.
Just spoke with Apple support today and walked through the export process
Reloaded the file back into Logic and it was correct in length (8 seconds)
When loaded into Magic playing time was 28 seconds.
Apple claims it's Magic that's causing the problem.
I have successfully exported midi data and related mp3 audio from the previous version of Logic 10.4.8 which plays back flawlessly.
Any thoughts on the issue?
I will take a look at my Magic configuration but I don't recall seeing any option to add 20 seconds to the end of loaded midi files?
Thanks
Chris

Re: Logic Pro X Ver 10.5.1 Exported Midi File
Exporting a MIDI file from Logic and then loading it back into Logic isn’t much of a test.
I would try loading it into a different app and see what happens.

Hi Eric,
Thanks for your quick reply.
In my post I did say that I did load it into Magic and hence the additional 20 seconds...
I loaded the midi file into another app as suggested and it also displayed the additional time added of 20 seconds.
For all my years of experience I can't believe I fell for the Apple support person's test of the file and her quick decision to deem it "not their problem to fix". Obviously Logic will load and play the file it created correctly.
I've only noticed it since the update to Logic 10.5.1 two week ago or so.
Have any other Logic users experienced the same issue?

Yes, I meant besides Magic. In my post I did say that I did load it into Magic and hence the additional 20 seconds...
Right, so it seems that Logic is indeed the problem.I loaded the midi file into another app as suggested and it also displayed the additional time added of 20 seconds.
Of course they said that, because it's the easiest way for them to handle it.For all my years of experience I can't believe I fell for the Apple support person's test of the file and her quick decision to deem it "not their problem to fix".
If you care to keep engaging with them, I'd present them with the evidence you found, otherwise just revert to the earlier version of Logic which works.
