No activity in Magic Window

Hello,

I have a newbie question:

Trying out Magic Music Demo for the 1st time I followed the instructions in the tutorial video "Music visualizer introductory tutorial part 1 -- Magic v2!" (https://youtu.be/MttFjukS8eY).

I end up with absolutely no visual activity in the Magic Window while talking in the mic or playing a sound file.

I've double checked my system audio set up (either with built in mic or USB mic). The input meter shows definitely incoming audio. I tried also a sound file as sound input, but unfortunately no success either.

Any idea how to fix this?

Many thanks and best regards,
Frisio

Hello Eric,

thanks for your reply.

Please find attached the screenshot of my project which follows the introductory tutorial video.

Another thing I have noticed: In the user manual is mentioned, that when selecting a Geometry Form - i.e. Polygon - the form should be visible in the Magic Window, even if there is no sound input. Unfortunately it does not show up.

Many thanks and best regards,
Frisio

Yeah, your graphics card isn't working properly. Thanks for thinking to include the OpenGL window -- makes it pretty obvious.

What kind of Mac do you have?

It is a MacBook Pro "Core i5" 2.53 15" Mid-2010.

Hmm. Not sure. It's pretty old. Maybe the graphics card just isn't good enough to run Magic.

The oldest Mac we have here in the office is a Mid 2011 Mini with 8GB RAM and an AMD Radeon HD 6630M video card. I'm not sure if we've tested anything older than that.
