Hi Eric,
Another question, if I may: I understand that imported audio-files create input sources, usually named "0" and "1", for the respective channels. However, what is the difference between the two channels? In the manual it shows an example of "Drums-Right" and "Drums-Left", but does this mean you always have to use both?
Thx.
Channels of imported audio files
Re: Channels of imported audio files
Well, most audio files are stereo, so channel 0 would be the left stereo channel, and channel 1 would be the right stereo channel. The difference between the channels comes from how the instruments and effects are panned; in other words, if you were wearing headphones, it would determine what you would hear on the left vs. the right.
So it doesn't really matter which one you use, and you certainly don't have to use both, but you can if you want to. Maybe try having a look at some of the stereo sample projects, such as SimpleStereoColor or StereoSpectrum, and import an audio file into them to see how the left and right channels are different. Let me know how it goes .
