Reverse video input

Post by gustavo.ten »

Hello!

It's a simple question really. I've been using video files, but I wanted to reverse them by command. Any of you know how to do it?

Do you mean play them backwards? You can set the Speed to -1 but you will get really bad performance with some video formats like mp4.

HAP codec plays well in reverse with just a bit of a hit in performance (tho not much on my machine).

For this test I rendered an MP4 in reverse to another MP4 and then switched between the forward and reverse videos with an input selector.

Excuse the excessive fade to black at the start and end of the loop which I should have reduced before reversing the video.

In my computer the frame rate drops below a usable level when I do this. I guess it's better just to make backwards versions of the videos and use them.
